Headlamp filament alignment
This may be a stupid question, but here goes!
Are the filaments on the headlamp bulb supposed to be horizontal when mounted in the headlamp socket? When I mount my new reproduction light socket, reflector (original), and bulb, the filaments are vertical. Thanks. |

Re: Headlamp filament alignment
yes horizontal. The bottom one is high beam and the top one is low beam

Re: Headlamp filament alignment
Do your reflectors have a "U" channel around the perimeter to contain the cork seal? If they only have a flat lip then they are '28 reflectors and will result in what you describe. If they DO have the "U" channel then they are correct and your sockets are '28 sockets (too long to use) or just junk and there will be something better available.

Re: Headlamp filament alignment
It turns out that I have '28 reflectors (no "U" channel). Looks like I'll continue learning "stuff" about this cotton pickin' hobby!
Thanks for the help! |
