Need a little help with a tilly
My tilly carb I cant find a diagramed of the carb to know which of the screws is for what to adjust the timing of the carb. All the ones I have read say adjust this screw or that screw, but it doesn't say where that screw is.

Re: Need a little help with a tilly
There are only 3 adjustment screws.
The GAV is the main adjustment and this things run best with it turned out from lightly seated at about 1/2 to 3/4 turns. The GAV is also the choke rod. The idle speed adjustment is the little screw that sets the the throttle plate. The idle mix adjustment is the little screw in the front the carburetor barrel/venturi and is an air adjustment. |

Re: Need a little help with a tilly
The idle speed set screw would be the screw that is on the side and sets against the throttle lever to set the opening.
The idle mixture screw would be the uppermost screw at an angle of about 45* and controls the air to gas mixture. I had the Zenith original carb in mind. I see 1955cj5 has given you the right answer below. Last edited by Tom Wesenberg; 08-04-2015 at 02:13 PM. |
