oil pump modification?
I read the thread on the Burtz motor oil pump modifications and am wondering if I need to open the slots on the new oil pump just purchased before I install it in a stock engine. His modifications are for his block and oiling system. Pic enclosed of the slots in my pump. I have access to any machine work needed.pumpopening.jpg

Re: oil pump modification?
Yes, you will need to open the outlets up a bit, and also block off the slots at the top of the tube to allow the oil to exit to an external filter, if you plan on using one.

Re: oil pump modification?
The oiling system on the Burtz is totally different from a stock Model A.

Re: oil pump modification?
I always open them up to 5/16 or 3/8 even on a stock motor.
