French flatheads had aluminum pans? If it was halibrand, why would it have ford script?

I have a, reported to be a 32, aluminum pan on my Ardun. I would have to look at it again, but don't think it has Ford script on it anywhere. My pan is nothing like the listed pan.

32 pan has no sump at the back. Perhaps European if not later French pan.

It's possibly an oil pan that was used on the very limited quantiy of '37 Ford aluminum flathead engines that were made, I believe for some type of aircraft project. I saw one of these engines on display in 2007, at FoMoCo Headquarters in Dearborn, Mi, during the 75th year celebration of the '32 Ford and the Flathead Ford V-8 engine. I also posted pictures here of this engine on a previous thread discussing aluminum block Ford Flathead V-8 engines.

Many people listing on eBay will use "catch words" as in the use of halibrand here. The only purpose is to attract bidders who may not necessarily have been looking for an aluminum pan.

Here is an old thread with a similar, but not matching oil pan that has a European origin.

Here is a photo of an aluminium oil pan for a 1935 V8-60 engine. I have made a display engine of the remains of one of these engines but I do not have a aluminium oil pan for it. refer to my heading.

Halibrand is just a key word to attract buyers on ebay. Nothing to do with manufacture or maker.

The seller (Don Orosco) probably knows exactly what it is. Maybe he wants to stimulate your imaginations into thinking up some exotic history for it.
