Torque spec. needed
I just replaced the flywheel on my stock 40 Ford and can't find the torque specification in any of my old Manuals. Would someone please tell me what it is so I can install the clutch and finish it up tomorrow. The engine is the original 59 type.
Thanks in advance Jay |

Re: Torque spec. needed
Check out Mac Van Pelt's website. Tons of great info, and I trust what he says over any manual. I just did a clutch on my 46 and used these specs.

Also, make sure you have a decent torque wrench. It isn't worth cheaping out on one. the harbor freight deals aren't worth the headache...

Thanks for the link to vanpelt sales. Mac is a great guy , and I also trust what he says. As a matter of fact I just received some assorted transmission parts from him and freshend up the transmission while I have it out. Yes , I do have the correct bolts. While you had the transmission out of your father's car, did you happen to check the ID. number to see if it matches your frame number? It is always nice to have the original transmission. Jay |
