V8 60 Connecting Rod Nuts
City:
Beloit
State:
Kansas
Greetings Everyone! Once again I find myself trying to undo something I did wrong. I am working on a 39 V8-60 and went to install the pistons using the specs I could find. You guessed it, I had the specs for the bigger block and started to torque the connecting rod nuts down. All the while telling myself this can't be right! I stopped somewhere around 30-35 ft. lbs. and went digging for more info. As always, here my answer was waiting on Ford Barn! I was fortunate enough that I didn't stretch or crack my rods but know I over tightened the stock nuts big time! I am looking for 16 castletted 5/16-24 thread x 7/16 across the flat nuts, grade 8. Thanks for your time, thoughts and input!
