Talking Running better every day

So I am driving my 30A, when I first got it running I clearanced the bearings, ground and adjusted the valves, new head gasket. It ran good but with a bad vibration as the rpms would drop. Meaning you could rev it up in the driveway out of gear, and it would vibrate after letting of the gas. I have been diving it almost every day for a month now and the vibration is almost completely gone. So what do you think has happened that it got better?

The mouse nest in the pressure plate finally ejected, and engine is now perfectly balanced!

Given the posts above I hesitate to ask! But have you noticed any other change as the roughness disappeared.....such as more power?

Well, maybe more power. The engine seems quieter at idle. On acceleration it is smoother. I was thinking the rings might be sealing better or something.

Just speculating....maybe one of the spark plugs was fouled and magically cleaned itself. Seems like a strange thing to happen, especially if you are the type that likes explanations!

My guess, Crank is not round it is oval. You took out shims to tighten it up. When you dirve it it goes tight, loose, tight, loose, tight, loose, tight, loose. As the bearing wears due to the tight areas it smooths out.

I'm surprised that someone hasn't asked if your crankshaft was indexed properly!!!! Or did you flow test your carb jets???
