Default 12 V Wiper?

To be up front this question is related to my 1948 Willys Jeep not my Model A but the components are the same. I want/need to install windshield wipers on the Jeep (wiper motor is at the top, windshield opens at the bottom, same as an A). There is nothing on the market now except Chinese junk that I am aware of. Apparently Bosch America made good ones but they are rare now. Does anybody have any suggestions? I’m not married to electric but I know absolutely nothing about vacuum type.

Just be aware that the Mighty Wiper is neither MIGHTY or will it WIPE. It has plastic gears and they do advertise that it is not strong enough to power two wipers. Even if your Jeep does not have dual wipers, it will not move a single wiper with much power in a heavy rain. Wish I could buy that company and remake it with a stronger motor and metal gears. I'll keep buying those lottery tickets.

I was lucky enough to somewhere find this Bosch 12 volt wiper motor. It looks like it originally had a twist switch on the back that got removed. It just barely fits behind the sun visor panel in the '36. Notice the deep cut in the arm. It matches the depth of the wiper rod from a vacuum wiper and it has never blown off. The slave arm that I got from Drake blew off all the time. I took my Dremel and deepened it, it has not blown off at 70 mph either.

I saw an ad in Hemings for a guy that rebuilds those Bosch units (I saw that just last night) (I believe they were Bosch-American) Is this not a sad state of affairs? It has become that finding decent (not Chinese) parts is 90% of a project.

Thank you for the input Steve, Carl, the Newport units look good (pricey but you get what you pay for.

Is there anything wrong with the Nu-Rex wiper kit that Snyders sells for $299. It looks like it would work well.

Newport engineering makes good quality 12 v wiper kit for a variety of cars. Good customer support too. For my 51 ford, it was a perfect fitting, bolt in replacement. I have a Vintique one in my cabriolet that I adapted for inside mounting. I can’t speak to its longevity as I have not needed to use it.

When you do get your new wiper, consider adding an adjustable voltage regulator so that you can control the wiper speed. I did that on my Model A and it works well.

Here is one as an example. There are others. https://www.amazon.com/Adjustable-Re...ef_=ast_sto_dp

I was unaware that NuRex had a wiper! I have some of their other products and in my experience the quality is good. I would also be confident that they would stand behind their product.
