Default victoria colors

It's finally time to paint my 31 Steelback Victoria. I have had Ford Maroon (Mitch's Lucy formula) as my first choice but was wondering about Brewster green and black or Elkpoint and Kewanee green. I have seen a lot of pictures with red wheels and apple green wheels on those colors but mine will have black wheels which makes the colors look different. Would some of you Barners post some pictures so I can make up my mind?

Marco posted a color change car picture he did. You could change the colors on the car to see which one you liked best. I hope someone can find the link to it.

I have seen that and it is helpful but I hoping to see some Victoria's in the different colors. does anyone have a picture of a Victoria in the greens with black wheels?

Brewster is a really rich color and looks great. I hope somebody has an example to post.

Here's a photo of an elkpoint and Kewanee green one I restored for a fellow, He wanted the Straw wheels so just know that was his personal choice.
The color combo turned out great and it is a superb car.

I did it my way! Factory colors for 1930 & 1931 Model As leave a lot to be desired. My educated guess is that the most common factory color scheme on 190As was Ford Maroon & Black.

Hey Art, you gona run wide whitewalls?

If not, that top center color from Bick would be excellent with Black on Black wheels.

Thanks for all the ideas and pictures. I have black wheels and blackwall tires. I am leaning towards the kewanne and elkpointe green combo as in Larry's picture. His colors seem to match the chips in the paint and finish guide which look less green and a little more gray. Those type of colors (like the drabs) are more my image of a Model A. As a sidenote; I just got my box of rebuilt shocks from Mr. Robert Paul which I am thinking of wrapping up to open on Christmas eve.

Whichever way u go get the chips scanned for a correct color match, other than the maroon which you have the formula

My 190A Steel-Back was originally Ford Maroon, but the color on my car was lighter than the color sample in the repaint manual. It looks more like reddish maroon than the brownish Ford Maroon in the book.

A Man & his Wife bought a NEW Victoria & she was too CHEEP to pay $5.00 each, to paint the wheels on her side, in Apple Green!
A friend of mine now owns the car, it has BLACK wheels on the R/H side & YEP, you guessed it, Apple Green on the L/H side!
I've used one kind of hubcaps on one side of a car & another kind on the other side!----"You CAN'T see both sides, at the same time, unless you're GROSSLY CROSSEYED"---LOL
I have 5 heavy Alujimum serving trays, Perla (home help gal) sed, "If you turn them over, Vermin can have some NEW HUBCAPS"--LOL

to each his own but why black wheels and tires. I am sure you are indeed in the minority for color choice. Black tires satisfy the purist but certaibly not the general population. Not always true but often blacks are for those that can't afford whites. Wayne

if you are indeed a purist, Why not just pick from the original colors the car came in. Why compare it to a basic entry level ( Mitches ) Tudor ? Wayne

Here is mine in Chicle and Copra. Note the color is different from what you normally see for this combination. My thanks to Ken Ehrenhofer for a tremendous amount of research and work to get this matched to original.
