My 1929 Briggs body pickup at our church Fall Festival
I love getting my truck out. Yesterday was a good excuse to.
I was asked to display my truck at our church Fall Festival, so that parents could take pictures of their children. I left my truck there in the afternoon and then went to pick it up after 7pm. I could tell that kids had been in the cab and the bed, but that's ok with me, as the truck is far from being a show truck. By the way, an article about my truck was published in the last issue of the Restorer magazine. The truck came with a scrapbook that revealed who the original owner was. |

Did your pickup belong to Bob Anders from Norfolk, Virginia? I don't get the restorer magazine.

Yes it did.
There is a picture of Bob and his dog Blackstone in the Restorer article. Did you know Bob? If you PM me your email address, I will send you a copy of the article. |

Very cool Neil. I have seen your truck numerous times around town and at the OC Pancake Breakfast.

Bob was in my Cape Henry Club. Great guy, a perfectionist. That is why he never finished the pickup. Blackstone was the perfect companion. PM sent.

This is what the truck looked like when I purchased it from Bob's family. |

Nice job Neil. Have you thought of adding some wooden side boards?

I eventually hope to re-add the original canopy top.

That is just to cool.
Bet your arm gets tired from waving back at all the people that wave at you when you are driving.

Re: My 1929 Briggs body pickup at our church Fall Festival
Thank you all for the kind words.
My truck has a Briggs emblem attached to the passenger side cowl. The truck might have been a prototype as I have never seen another. There is evidence on the rear bed floor that at one time there were posts that held up a canopy roof. The truck came with a scrap book with old receipts and pictures from previous owners. There is an old newspaper article that talks about the Sweet Advertising Company, including pictures of the truck as an advertising vehicle in the 1930s and 1940s. |

Yes, the cab is taller than the regular Ford cab and the bed is longer than the regular Ford bed.
