Default Its 1938 again!!!!!

I've always had a thing for the first hot rods. My grandfather was a certified hoodlum in the late 30's and had his share of bikes and fast cars. This may be part of my car disease.
After changing my water pump and fan this week, I decided I should check the wheel bearings. Good thing I did as the were pretty dry but repackable.
I already had the fronts off and I would like to have the 19's powder coated. I can't afford to do them all in one month.
I already had the 17's and tires off a hot rod project I'm working on.

So what the hell, lets roll jalopy style like gramps for the summer.

And after some stylizing its 1938!!!

It's amazing how sassy a Model A coupe looks by simply removing the hood.

Thanks!!!
The wheels were a just cause I could

The biggy was installing a water pump I built!!!!and getting rid of the 4 blade fan.
Even after running the vinegar for a week I was still not satisfied with the condition of the radiator. I laid it on its back filled it with vinegar I then added oxyclean, it fights grease and I had some evidence of grease. I put this out in the sun, granted it was only in the low 90's but I let it sit and stew for 2 days agitating occasionally.
I think I'm satisfied with it now.
The wheel bearings have been a concern since I bought the car. Now I can check that off my list.
I agree the no hood does make it look like its got some spunk

Me too! I also liked the comment about your grandfather being a certified hoodlum.. I know for a fact that my grandfather got in his share of trouble too! I wish he was still around so I could pry him for more stories of his youth because he had some good ones! I remember one car related story he told me that he got in his fair share of trouble with, and that was he had a friend with an old car that they liked to take out (with or without a baseball bat in tow) and play a game called "mailbox" I think you can guess what the game was. Who knows what other kind of trouble he would have gotten into if he hadn't joined the Navy during the war!

All these years and the road still has the same crack in it! Still using the same curtins in the front window, and that poor ol'tree is slow growing.
It's a Cool Picture!

That's the only powder coater I can afford. Sandblasted and coated for like 28 a wheel. I just can't do it all one month

750 and 550 17's.
They are a bit big and cartoonish on the A but are perfect for my 24 Dodge bros touring.

I'm digging that panel Rowdy!

Cool, I like the look of 17 or 18 inch wheels, much better than the 1935 16 inch wheels. You see more spoke with the taller wheels. The 16's just look too squatty. I do have one with big and little tires with 16 inch wheels, I just like the 17 and 18's better.

Looks great Tiny, I don't think I'd have the intestinal fortitude to change it back.

Speaking of hoodlums, here's my dad about 1930. That's a .32 in his hand. But he was just funnin'. I think...
