Default Looking for a different gear knob not the original

I want to change the gear knob of my 31 Ford Model A for a different knob style but without the need of an adapter. I will like a bigger or rare shape of knob. At this moment I have only the mushroom option. Anyone have an idea of what kind of knob can fit the model a? I mean from any other car, make or year? I just want it to look a bit different.

Any knob will fit if it has the same thread size & pitch.

I'll tell you one that is really unique, but does require a little fitting, is a Victorian Glass Door knob or a Solid Brass Ornate one. I made one for my '30 coupe and it is Very Unique and fits the hand quite well.

Ebay and Amazon have thousands of types and styles. Local woodworkers are a source and if you have a tech school maybe them for a custom knob.

Most of the Model A Parts houses carry various swirled glass 'marble' shift knobs that fit the Model A shift stick. They come in blues, reds, orange, etc. They are meant to replicate the accessory knobs that some used in the '30's, '40's and '50's, to add a bit of sportiness to the car.

Try these
http://www.1954design.com
These are made by Saxman on the HAMB. He will make a custom design if you want. Doesn't cost any extra. Reasonably priced in my opinion and unique. Here is one of the ones he built me. Not the best of pictures, but you get the idea. He also makes the limited edition HAMB shift knobs.

If the knob hole is TOO BIG, fill it with JB Weld, rub Vaseline on the shifter threads, "screw" it on & wipe off the excess, let it harden, then it will screw off, easily.

This glass door knob has a set screw to secure it to the gearshift.

I always liked the 8 ball knobs.
Hardly original but a nice upgrade from stock...
