Default 29 standard phaeton belt rails

Hi All,
Got new belt tack rails,
One is 4” shorter than the other.
Is there a reason for this?
Where does the short one go front or back?
Thanks in advance
Daryl..
(Don’t fit all tat great)

A photo would help, holding the wooden pieces up where you are considering mounting them.

I bought a wood kit for my 29 phaeton made by Classic Wood in NC. The belt rail wood pieces were crap. They were cut with a bandsaw. Ford originally steam bent them. The curved ends broke when I tried to install them, especially the front as the wood had cross grain that easily broke. I decide to make my own by steam bending green (not kiln dried) white ash. It took a long time to accomplish but was many time better than the beltrail wood from CW. I posted some pictures of what I did.

Don’t know if the pics show up.
I’m sure there shouldn’t be a gap there

Supposed to be the correct parts, front seems to fit decently.
