Can someone tell me how the single wire tachometer work on a Model A?

The tach has to be a model that is compatible with the electric system in the model A.
The A has a 6 volt positive chassis ground and has 4 cylinders.

Hookup is easy. Ground the tach body when mounting and hook the lone wire to the ignition side of the coil.
