Do you think there is an dangerous level of stress on your engine when using the Stromberg 48 dual intake carb? |

Re: Downdraft Carburetors?
How far do we 'stretch' "Period Correct" nomenclature ?
- 1928-1931 ? - 1925-1935 ? - '25 to pre-war (1942) ? - Other ? A little tighter sense of what we are talking about may produce a response that is a little closer to what you are asking. __________________________ My '28 Phaeton's 'touring' engine with stock Zenith / distributor runs very strong and 'snappy'. My '31 Dlx Coupe, with Ron Kelley 'Touring Engine', with it's F.S. electronic ignition and Stromberg 97 carb., cast iron exhaust headers - runs like a scalded dog after a bitch in heat ! Just hearing the engine builds my adrenaline and chops ten years off my age. |

Winfield BB on original Winfield BB intake. Nothing better for period correct.

Re: Downdraft Carburetors?
I have a Stromberg-Bendix down draft intake with a single throat Ford truck carb on my B motor with an original CRAGAR head. This was available through Ford dealers in 1931. Perhaps the first Ford SVO program

Re: Downdraft Carburetors?
I once "inherited" a box of OLD Jeep stuff, welded up a manifold & used TWO Jeep carbs. Used bicycle shift cables, to operate them.
