Rear main seal
Hello everyone! I noticed a pretty good leak the other day. I’m thinking it’s the rear main seal on our ‘32 Model B… The truck has the 4cyl engine. Does anyone have an idea where I can get a replacement? Any information and pointers would be greatly appreciated!

Re: Rear main seal
There is really no replaceable seal on the B just a slinger on the crankshaft.
Could be to much bearing clearance or excessive crank end play. Last edited by Bob C; 08-10-2023 at 10:55 AM. |

Re: Rear main seal
Would shims be the fix for the clearance issue? Also what’s the solution to crank end play?
Thank you |

Re: Rear main seal
Here is a link to a video on adjusting the bearings. This is not the only way to do it
but will give an idea what is involved. To much crank end play is most likely worn thrust on the rear main. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8MH3HtTnshQ&t=2s |
