Trying to help a friend figure out some rear fenders for his 35 Ford Tudor sedan restoration project. He bought some nice rear fenders from a guy in Detroit that said they were for his car but they do not fit. He brought his fenders to my house today to compare with the rear fenders I have for a project of mine (35 4-door sedan). His fenders are similar but not the same. Rear tail of the fenders are different and his is not as wide as mine at the running boards. I am wondering if his fenders may be 1936? Need some help here from an experienced 35 Ford guy! Are 35 and 36 rear fenders the same? Do all 35 Ford body styles use the same rear fenders? We dont know what he has or even what we should be looking for! Thanks for any help!

Haven't owned a 35 or 36 since the 70's but they are definitely NOT the same in the rear skirt area . The coupe type bodies take a fender that is wider on top than sedans . That said a 35 sedan fender will bolt right onto a 36 sedan etc . The runningboard mounting area is the same so you probably have fenders from something else there . Many here that can carry this further but this is basics .

as David J said, the fenders interchange, but not the same....and the coupe, roadster fenders are different than sedans...looks at cars on ebay to see the different looks between the two years....good luck.....Mike

His statement that the fenders are narrower at the running board is puzzling.

The 35 and 36 have a different profile as shown above and the coupe/roadster fenders are different than a sedan where they meet the rear of the body but all 1935/36 rear fenders should be the same at the running board area.

I suspect these fenders are for something different.

Post some pictures and if they are indeed '35 or '36 it will be easy to tell.
