Default Side curtains for 31 deluxe roadster

What company do you recommend to get new side curtains from?

Also, if anyone has some used ones that they want to unload I would be interested.

I needed some for my 28 Phaeton, and it took me about 5 years before a nice set of NORS ones showed up on ebay. Classtique will make you a set, as the chance of finding nice used ones would be rare.
Some people have made their own and used larger clear for better vision.

LaBaron Bonney makes the side curtains correctly. Their's cost a little more but they are well worth it. We bought a set of side curtains for our 30 Standard Phaeton from Mac's and it was a big disappointment. Mac's had the wrong side curtain fasteners and they also had too many errors in their directions. Try to buy your side curtains from the same people that made your top. That way, the top material should also match the new side curtains.

Interesting, I never thought of making my own.

Does anyone have a pattern or photo with dimensions for a Deluxe Roadster?

I will also call Classtique.

You'd have to tape a large piece of paper to the side, mark all the snap pockets and fastener locations, then sketch out where the clear should be located. You might need a heavy duty sewing machine for the heavy fabric.

I made my own. A friend let me make patterns from his car. I purchased clear plastic for convertible rear windows, Had it edged by local upholstery shop. ALOT BETTER visibility when installed.

First, order the paper patterns from LeBarron Bonny. Fit them to the car and mark the locations of all the fasteners. Then send them back so they can make the curtains. I think they also have the fasteners.
I did a set for a club member last year. They came out great.

Glenn, are they selling the paper patterns?

If so, I could buy the patterns and try to make them myself. Well, with my wife's sewing machine and he sewing talents. No, she does not know this yet.

I answered my own question.

I called Lebaron. The price of the pattern is $675.00. You pay for the job up front. They send you the pattern, you have 1 year to mark the pattern and send it back. They then build the side curtains to the specs of your pattern.

I offered to bring the car to them so that they could do it themselves. They only will do it by mailing out the side curtain pattern to the customer.
