Default Thread size

On the folding luggage rack that is commonly available, the one with the wood slats, is the thread on the bolts UNC ?
The one I have has full width lock nuts and I would like to replace them with 1/2 width lock nuts.
Dennis.

Even CHEEP tap & die sets always have a thread gauge in them. Try Harbor Freight, for them.
