Huckster Guys.....I think You'll like this

I've always liked woody wagons and hucksters. As an engineer, I have access to CAD software so I decided to model one up in 3D for fun. Some of the plans I've seen for these things are pretty poorly done as far a details and today's drawing standards. I'm not done yet but getting close. This is based off of a few that I've seen running around....Yes, I'm making a set of VERY detailed drawings for it.

I did a full set of measured drawings of my original steel skinned 1928 Huckster in the pre computer 1970s. I did it the old school way on a drafting table with drafting tools. Below are a few examples. For all the drawings and many photographs use this link to my dropbox album.

Make sure there's room for a tall driver, the huckster I had was too tight for a 6'- 3 driver.

the proportions on a "woodie vehicle" are so important. Check the side view of any Model A factory station wagon, mail truck, etc. The top is arced just behind the driver position, then tapers to the back and tapers to the front; the roof line is not flat and looks obviously homemade if it is flat.
Study any original photos and you will see this arch clearly.

Although natural wood is beautiful, I believe that most hucksters were painted. Usually green.

I think steel skinned painted Hucksters have a much better period look. But then I admit to being biased!
