Re: Oil Pan Finds
piston expanders to spread the original split skirt pistons to make them fit tighter when worn ----there are many varietys, everyone had a better idea, cheaper etc.

Re: Oil Pan Finds
Also holding up the car by the bumper is not the safest either. We want you around to see the car drive.

Re: Oil Pan Finds
I see jack stands supporting the frame, but what is that round thing next to the front axle?
I've never seen that style piston skirt expander before, and since you found them in the pan you don't want to use them. I'd guess you'll be removing the pistons and doing some measuring, and removing the crank to check the babbit. |

Re: Oil Pan Finds
I appreciate your concern for my safety, but the car is on four 3T jackstands. I was being a bit aggressive removing the front spring u-bolts and decided to put them there for backup!

Re: Oil Pan Finds
Nice coupe! Mine looked just like that when I started on it four years ago. Have had lots of fun tinkering around and driving it, enjoy.

Re: Oil Pan Finds
I now see a jack stand, stands are good. I couldn't see any initially. Concrete blocks are verboten.
