Attaching Throttle Arm (Zenith)
Hi,
Feel like a moron for asking this question, but I'm trying to attach a new throttle shaft to my old arm (Zenith) and I can't quite figure out how to do it. I was thinking of scoring the new arm (the rectangular part) in the middle and gently peening it over the flat of the arm, but after sliding the arm on the rectangular part of the shaft, there really isn't that much meat left to score and peen over. Any suggestions/correct method, preferably one that won't look too "bubba" (I'm good at coming up with those myself, as evidenced above haha!). Thanks. |

Re: Attaching Throttle Arm (Zenith)
I would polish them both and make sure they are 100% oil free, then silver solder with good solder paste. Use a good large iron or a torch with an solder iron tip attachment as you need to get the parts at least 700 degrees to solder properly. Do not use a open flame to heat, if the flame touches the area were you want to solder it will cause the solder to not stick well.

Originals were peened. Are you sure there isn't enought to peen? If not, then send it back and ask for a better one.
