F O R D Letters
I'm restoring a 1959 Ford Custom 300 back to how it looked in 1959. The Custom 300 is the only model that had the letters F O R D on the hood--not the emblem that all the other models had. Does anyone know if these exact letters were used on any other year Ford car or truck?

Re: F O R D Letters
I'm pretty sure the 1958 Ford Custom 300 also uses the same F O R D letters as the 1959 Custom 300. No other years or models that I can think of. Sal

Re: F O R D Letters
My Mustang has FORD letters on the front of the hood. It was made in September 1964 (1965 model year) and I am the original and only owner it has had.

Re: F O R D Letters
Just had a look and it looks like this is for a 62 Fairlane, prefix C2OB. Sorry I could not help with that one. Rod

Re: F O R D Letters
I said that of my Bronco, and my dad corrected me with a grin.
"The first owner was Ford Motor Company," he said. "The second owner was the dealer's bank. The third owner was your Credit Union. That makes you fourth owner, at best." Darn! I'd been driving second-hand Fords without knowing it! Worse even: fourth-hand Fords. Oh well, better than fourth-hand anything else. |

Re: F O R D Letters
I'm not sure if the letters were used on the '58 Custom 300 deck lids, but I know they were on the front of the car.

Re: F O R D Letters
Great info! Thanks for the assistance. Hopefully I can find a 58 with the letters as I've had no luck with finding another 59.
