New guy, new T, new information...
New guy here. I dropped this T off at my father-in-laws this afternoon after he purchased it from another family member. The car has sat for 20-30 years and is supposed to just need new coils to run. I'm skeptical about that. I have talked my FIL into leaving the body as is and, for now, getting it running and updating and upgrading the brakes. I will be scouring the forums for all the information I can find and will appreciate the help in any and all stupid questions I have in the future. Here come the stupid questions:
Who are the trusted parts vendors? Can the ignition be upgraded to something more modern? Can the suspension and brakes from a newer A be swapped under the T so we can get juice brakes? Thanks, Jason I'm also JK on the HAMB, just in case. Anyway, on with the pics: |

New Guy- JK, If it were me I`d stay with Henrys original design. If you are worried about the brakes re-line the bands with the kevlar. Get a hold of Ron the coilman or one of the vendors and get you coils rebuilt, then from the looks of it I would get a wireing harness. Pull the bottom oil pan and valve cover an wash them out and ck the babbit situation. then get her on the road an see what u think. If you want an 'A', go buy one. Nuthin like drivein a 'T' tho. Listen to Monte, he knows from experience! One other thing to address before running the car too much would be to either put a proper fan belt on it to drive the add-on water pump or better still take the pump off & put the original water inlet back on the block.
Lang's, Snyders,& Mac's are 3 suppliers with on line catalogs. There are others as well, There is not much you cannot buy to keep a T going & original. Tack some fabric on the roof & have fun with it -- you will be amazed at how most people love an untouched T. What is the hose & can affair on the carb area? |

What a nice find ! Like someone said, tack a roof on it and have fun. Scrub it up, inside and out, make sure the glass is safty glass, throw some blankets on the seats and drive it. At car shows, more people will stop to look at it, rather than the restored cars. HAVE FUN ! MIKE |
