Default 400A body manufacturer

I've learned on here that all known Victoria bodies were produced by Murray.

Over the weekend a friend with a 400A asked if I knew whether his car had a Briggs or Murray body.

Any help? Thanks.

Pete's right. All Murray. Should have a Murray body tag on the firewall. Also a give away are the square clinch nuts used only on Murrays. For example the two under the hood down at the bottom of the steering column where the peddle pad screws on from inside the car. On a side note, I think A-400 sounds nicer off the tonge

400-A sounds Canadian...............not that there is anything wrong with that.

I have seen both screws and rivets attaching Murray Body plates to both 400A and 190A bodies. Are there any dates attached to these changes or do the occur randomly?

I want to go on a limb but think that all of them were screwed on

It are the aftermarket tags that are mostly attached with rivets.

My observations have been the opposite to yours, pretty much 100% on Victorias. Because both bodies were built by Murray and they share a number of body parts I assumed that the practice of attaching body tags would be the same. My 190-43230 was screwed on.
