How about skipping the Resolution, just give us back our booze free gas, and the tax money that's gone to the ethanol lobby!?! I'd bet the boat and aircraft folks would join us.

OOPS, probably getting a little too close to politics....

Government is not something I want in my "Collector Car" hobby.

Resolution designating July 8, 2011 as “Collector Car
Appreciation Day” Introduced in U.S. Senate
At the request of SEMA
Action Network (SAN),
Senator John Tester (D-MT)
and Senator Richard Burr (RNC)
have introduced Senate
Resolution 115 (S. Res 115)
in the United States Senate,
officially designating July 8,
as “Collector Car
Appreciation Day.” The date
marks the second
commemoration in an annual
event to raise awareness of the vital role automotive
restoration and collection plays in American society. The
resolution states that the Senate “recognizes that the
collection and restoration of historic and classic cars is an
important part of preserving the technological achievements
and cultural heritage of the United States.”

Our club, CVMAFC, will be attending and supporting National Collector Car Appreciation Day at a Cruise-In at Charlie Daniel's Racing Facility on June 8. This Cruise-In will be held at Daniel's Racing in Smithfield, VA, starting at 6:00 PM. We didn't view a Senate Resolution as our Government intruding in the old car hobby.
