Default headlight latch rivet

I am restoring a pair of '35 headlights. The trim ring latch on both is beat up and ugly. I want to install the replacements by Vintique, #A-13044-BSS.

Can you help me with 'how to round over the supplied rivet' that attaches the piece that is inside the ring with the piece that is outside the ring?

Thanks, Phil

You need a small rivet setting punch such as used on the rivets of brake linings. If you are not too fussy, a pointed center punch will do the job.

Thanks for the suggestion.

Any other methods I should consider?
