I need a Roadster P.U. seat pic
Can somebody with a '30-'31 Roadster pickup, kindly post a picture of the sheet metal under the bottom seat cushion? Thanks.

Re: I need a Roadster P.U. seat pic
Greg,
These are from an early '31 RDPU. The main thing that surprised me was the piece of wood running from one side to the other. This may appear on other models and I just never noticed. If you would like additional photos please tell me what you need. Sorry I didn't have time to clean things up a little but I am running late today. Charlie Stephens |

That piece of wood is to keep the seat springs from sagging.

Re: I need a Roadster P.U. seat pic
Does the wood that is pictured above touch the metal floor all across the bottom, or does it only touch the subframe at the sides. If there are gaps between the wood and floor how big are the gaps.
The reason I ask is on my late 31 closed bud cab, the wood is 1/2" or 1" too wide and I will have to cut it down to make it fit, and I am trying to find the correct dimensions. |

On my late 31 Bud closed cab, I looked very close for screw holes, and there are no holes in the floor pan and no holes in the subframe close to the wood. I can only find two screw holes on the top of the seat riser, one on each side. It looks like the wood hangs from the top with one screw at each end. It seems like there should be more than two screws holding the wood in but there are no other screw holes. Does anyone know the proper way to mount the wood in a late 31 cab? |

I didn't think there would have been any difference , however mine was a 28-29 cab.

My early '31 RDPU has 6 screws coming up from the bottom of the pan under the seat going into the piece of wood. It is a fairly low mileage original truck so I assume it came that way from the factory.
