I have a pop out ignition switch and from the key code is a 28 or 29 will that switch fit in the 31 dash

For clearance reasons the popout switch was changed when the speedometer and instrument panel changed from oval to round in mid 1930. The round speedometer popout has a tin rear cover that can be removed by prying back a few upsets.

The 1928-early 1930 switch does not have a removable rear cover.
