Restoring the First Car I Ever Owned
I was thinking about acquiring and restoring a 1961 Mercury Comet - my first car. If I were to do this would there be a source of parts - like Brattons for model A's - or would I have to rely on junk yards. Bill G

Don't let sentimentality outweigh practicality. Yes most parts are available in places alot like this forum. Frank

Re: Restoring the First Car I Ever Owned
Mechanical parts probably won't be a problem to locate. Trim and body parts probably won't be easy to find.

Re: Restoring the First Car I Ever Owned
I am suprised at the availability of parts. I never thought about Mac's but comets must be antiques by now at 52-53 yrs old like Model A's.
Thanks for all your help Bill G |
