Wind Wing Knowledge Required
Sometime back, possibly 3 to 4yrs, a club member who lives 50 miles north of me, gave me a package that was supposed to contain a set of wind wing brackets that were supposedly to fit a 1930 Cabriolet.
This package I was requested to pass on to another member of our club at the next meeting. As the receiver of the supposedly package containing the wind wing brackets did not attend the meeting, I goofed by leaving the package at the club house to had over at a later meeting. The package of course became non-existent. Possibly someone else thought they looked neat. You know how it goes. I have tried over the last couple of days to get some sort of response (either positive or negative) by advertising on this sites "want ads". As I have not received a response, to the want ad, I have finally come to realize, "Wind Wings" for a 1930 Cabriolet, do not exist, and were never made, as there is no header in the door. A 40yr Guru in our club also advised me to this detail Question is; Am I now correct ?????? |

Well, lets go this way, ....Wind Deflectors (the proper name) DID exist for the body however they were not installed at the factory. Does that help? |

Re: Wind Wing Knowledge Required
Ok! Brent. Thanks for the heads-up on the terminology. Yes and no as for the help. Since they actually existed as an aftermarket, all I have to do is be patient, and wait for a set to appear. Sure wish I knew what they looked like.
Thanks again for you help. |

Re: Wind Wing Knowledge Required
I have a '30 Cabriolet with wind deflectors. The car was restored in the late 60 and early 70's and were put on at that time. I will be going over to the garage tomorrow and take a close up picture of the brackets. Sorry this picture doesn't show it very well but at least you can see they are on a Cabriolet

Re: Wind Wing Knowledge Required
These may or may not be an era original accessory. They are at least from the late 60's or earlier. It looks like a creative opportunity using the current reproductions available. The top bracket is rigid enough to prevent the wings from vibrating excessively.

Re: Wind Wing Knowledge Required
There are two versions of wind wings out there. The mountings are different. A&L sells one. I haven't had time to get a set.
