Thanks for the input regarding the washer. However, my problem is that my hinge rod is not long enough to fit into both the front and rear hold-down brackets when I move the radiator forward. I do like the idea of possibly using some tubing to extend it.

If your hinge rod is hollow, you can find a solid rod to fit tightly inside the original hood rod and cut it to the right length.

i think my quail is a 29 also. it is 4 3/4" long and 3" wide and almost 3" tall. nice condition for its age. no radiator cap, just the quail. are these really worth what was posted?
