Default Tail light mounting location for 1936 Truck

I bought a tail light bracket to be used with rear bumper for 1936 Ford Truck; however, I am lost as to how or where exactly it mounts.
It appears to mount to the frame but I see no existing holes...almost feels like I am missing a bracket of some type.

Can someone help me with a picture of proper way to mount it? Thank you in advance

This is not for a pickup, it is for a big truck.

I have four round lights mounted underneath the tailgate on mine. This might have been a commercial application. Only one of these works currently, so I have mounted a 37' light on the left as did Hot Coupe. There are a couple of bolts on the back of the box that fit the bracket. Wish all the problems were that easy to remedy.

Hopefully previous postings have shown you how the tail lights mount on a 36 with a rear bumper. If not, email me direct at [email protected]
and I can furnish you with a couple of pictures. Just learning a new computer and haven't figured it all out yet.

What's correct for the half ton? I only see the flat bracket that mounts behind the stake pocket but claims 1937 and up

Enlarge photo posted by Hot Coupe and study it carefully. That bracket is what you are looking for. Correct bracket has an offset to it, which moves it out from the bed. Flat bracket is for pickup without a bumper. You probably will have to drill new holes for the correct bracket. You probably will have to grind off a rivet to drill one of the holes, but I can't remember exactly, I reiterate, send me an email at [email protected] and I will send you a photo of how it mounts on a Dearborn class 36 truck with a rear bumper.
As Jerry Grayson says, the bracket shown in Mac's book is for a large truck.

I appreciate the pictures of the info. Thank you Lawson that email helped! now see that I have the wrong set of brackets.
My problem seems that I can't find the right brackets. I checked with Mac and early Ford parts and they don't carry these....any one with a lead on where I could get a set or should I just try my luck in the classified section?

Thank you everyone!

www.mackhilsmetalfabrication.com/ reproduces the tail light bracket that i used on my `37. however they only make the left side [driver], so you have to cut one apart and weld it back together - because of the offset.

Rather than the cut and weld route, consider the heat and bend path. Those brackets are mild steel and should stand up to a little shade tree blacksmith work well.
