Looking for the lower half of a 56 Mercury rear quarter panel. I see several companies sell the rear quarter panel for the Station Wagon.

Does anyone on the Barn know if the lower half of the Station Wagon Panel is the same as the 2 Dr Montclair Hardtop? There are no Station Wagon's here in Western Nebraska to look at and it's hard to tell when looking a photo. Of course if anyone knows of a source for the 2Dr hardtop rear quarter panels what would be better yet.

Gary, I don't have an answer to your question but I would think IF the wagon and H/T quarter panels where the same the companies that make/sell them would say so in their ad... or not?

Not trying to be a smart a$$, just using logic for once.

The '55 and '56 Mercury station wagons used Ford sheet metal for the rear quarter panels. '56 Mercury station wagon rear quarter sheet metal will not fit on a '56 Mercury passenger car.

depending on what you need maybe you could extend or or remove from the wagon panel if it has a similar shape you could rework it to fit or find a ford product with similar contours I did this with a 65 mercury Montclair using galaxie 1/4s

That is interesting Frank, I have a '66 Mercury that could use some lower quarter repair.

i'm sorry it was a Monterey find a car with body lines that are close and you can rework them to fit
