Default What is this Tool?

The grip angle of the movable jaw doesn't look right for a flywheel turner. It looks like it could be used as a front axle bending tool, but seems too light for that. It's 21 1/2" long.

If not a flywheel turner, then it's a log tool for your fire place:-)

That was my first thought until I studied the angle of the hook.
It doesn't look like a good angle to grab a flywheel tooth.

That is to unscrew the ends off some hydraulic pistons.I have a set of them, starting with the small one like that, and the biggest I have is four feet long. They are handy for dozens of other uses too.

Is it even model A related? Kinda reminds me of an old tool to hold/remove lathe chucks

Thanks Keith.
Just before you wrote that I was thinking it would be handy for unscrewing a large pipe cap as long as the cap had a knob to grab.

I don't know what it is for, but I do think that it is upsidedown.

Easy peasy,

It is a tool to unscrew the outer cap on a locomotive Houdaille shock absorber.

It is a tool used by framers to pull wall plates into line in order to nail to the floor. The hook is driven into the bottom plate and the spike is nailed about a foot away, then the lever is pulled, moving the wall inwards to a point where it is straight. We call it a "mini peavy" it has some age on it, never seen one that old.

I thought Vern had it but the point on the movable arm is not oriented in a way that will allow it to catch onto the sill plate.

After doing a little more research, it appears to be a Spanner Wrench

I agree, realized that after my post, the hook shows no evidence of hammering either.
