Door latch
The left rear door on my 31 slant window wont lock. It looks like it is wore out has anyone repaired one that could tell me how. Or i would buy a good one if anyone has one to sale.

Re: Door latch
Will the handle open the door from inside and then will it stay in the up, horiz. locked position? If not the little S shaped spring may be broken, etc. I just finished replacing that spring on mine. The latch and handle mechanism can come out together after removing the window weather strip which slips into the latch mechanism channel. The weather strip felt was movable enough to allow the latch bolt assembly to come out .Try to get a spring from the vendors with some ductility because a little bending was required to get the tab to fit into the rear facing slot in the handle support plate. JW Hash and others have great insight on these in other posts.

Or Mr. Hash may be kind enough to repair yours, he just finished repairing my passenger front on my slant town sedan. Now I can open and close it, and even lock the darn thing, first time since I've owned the car.
