Interior light wiring

30 Fordor. The wiring to my interior overhead light is trashed. Anyone have any ideas on how to run new wires (or any other solution) without tearing out the headliner?

i have the same problem, also i would like to put some extra electronical stuff and some wiring in there.

Somebody please let us know what the trick is? Can you pull the new wire with the old wire?

i figured out another solution for mine. you probably can't do the dome light by pulling with old wires. the ground wire on mine was run through holes drilled into the overhead bows. small hole and you probably won't be able to pull a connected wire through it. on mine, the ground wire for that light ran to the back of the car and down and grounded to a metal brace under the 1/4 window. the power runs from the front of the car and through the bows.

some sedans originally had a wire connection on the front header Here is a picture of one on a Victoria. This would make it impossible to pull a new wire.

Consider using a 9-12volt LED lamp powered by a 9volt lithium battery. You might be able to tape or tie wrap the battery behind or next to the light fixture. The battery should last for quite a while as LED lamps consume milliwatts of power. This would eliminate the need to run a new wire. Just a thought.

I figured out another route. I am just finishing up installing a new headliner and all of the interior trim. I removed the trim above the driver side doors and ran a new wire along the windlace edge and across the roof between the headliner and the chicken wire. Took me a couple of hours to work it all out but turned out ok. I am now lit.

The dome light in my Coupe is not working because the power wire feed to it is broken in a place I know what where. I am going to rig some warm white LEDs with a 9V battery and stuff them into the dome light.
My Victoria has a dome light with LEDs powered by the car's electrical system.

My 31 Slant fordor is like your picture. I didn't have power to the dome light, had to loosen the panel that covers the header and part of the headliner to get to the connection that you show in the picture. I found out that the sta-kons were connected with a wood screw in the header. Mine wood screw wasn't making a tight fit in the header so I predrilled a new hole for the screw to be tight connecting the sta-kons.
