Does anyone have a picture of a 1928 Tudor sedan or if it's the same any car with the wood and pad installed in this part of the car? Or can someone tell me the sequence of which they go. If you can't upload pictur w you can email them to me [email protected]

I can't say for sure as I've only owned the one pickup... but it looks very similar to the 29 ccpu...

1955cj5's photo is perfect. Rubber pad is under the steel, and the wood block is inserted into the hollow in the cowl. The cowl mounting has no rubber stapled to the wood block like all the other blocks. Getting that wood block into its position can need some persuasion.

Do I put felt under the rubber on top of the chassis?

The rubber sits on the splash shield, no felt or anything else.

I thought the splash shield had something under it... ( I could be wrong)...

What i thought was: frame rail, body welting, splash apron, rubber pad, then body with wood block slipped in.

Also before slipping the wood block in is there anything you would coat the wood with to preserve/protect it? Did they used to use black creosote?

What sequence do I use if I'm not running the splash pans?

This is correct. My original wood blocks just show black paint.

If you are building a rod with no aprons, I'd leave the welting off the frame.
