Default TROG on the left coast

After a tuff start at Pismo Beach in 2016 is TROG done with the left coast?

Sure hope they give it another chance.

From what I have heard, It is done.

Too Bad.

This could have turned into a great event.

We will be in Wildwood June 9-11, 2017. We still have not confirmed our dates for Pismo this year.

The Race of Gentlemen -

Thank you Mike for helping me to be 'hep' with the lingo. Hopefully others too will gain from your translation - that is to say, out of all the FORUM members, I HOPE I was not the only one who did not understand the meaning.

First time mentioned here I had to look it up because like you I thought I was the only one that did not know based on the content of the thread.

It is kind of cool though, that type of race. (did you notice that no alternators and no white walls are allowed on the vehicles that are allowed to race?)

If not you can still run it in hill climbs with the F.A.S.T. Group. It's good fun. They have
Stock classes and several modified classes. Pre 1934 four bangers.

if they made money in Cali- they would hold it again.

from what I understand, only a limited # of cars are accepted and it is more about the "production"
of the event. lots of sponsors...........$................

Curious as to how difficult it was to get permits from the Coastal Commission to run the event.

Rocket1 -- there are never enough car activities in California!

Ronn -- you're probably right. T.R.O.G. had a booth at the Grand National Roadster Show at the Fairplex in Pomona last month so I guess they are still interested in Cali. The guys at the booth said they were trying to get something for this year but we're not optimistic. I don't think they had enough advertising either. A group from our Model A club went and have pictures on our web site.

I went to Pismo and although it was a damp and wet day, the turn out was very good. To bad about the weather for Sunday, but hey, cant predict everything. I heard it was some what costly to put this event on. If it comes back, I would gladly do it again..

Steve Plucker, post #12: ". . . NWWC in SEW."
---------------------------
O.K. Steve - I now have TROG under my belt - and I can even decipher SEW (South East Washington) - but, again (I hope I am not the only one) you will have to decipher "NWWC" for me/us.

Well as I am still putting a car together for TROG, it is good to hear that they may try again in 2018. Sure hope so as it is a great event, but they got to pay their costs to keep it going.

If you were there for the event at Pismo Beach and saw the crowd that showed up in the rain all day Saturday, be assured if the weather was better you would have to bring your own sand pile to sit on.

We will keep are fingers crossed for better weather and a date in 2018.

the grand national roadster show has a lot of plastic 32's and i bet it has mustangs and Try 5 Chebbys. all the car shows around hear are the same. there is nothing like Trog out hear. i have been to a lot of car shows. there are only about a handful of cars i like to look at. but at trog every car got my attention. also you can hear them in motion. i went there, and fought the weather, i had a good time. also i did not gripe about wanting a refund for the Sunday. i wish they would do that again, i would go in a hot minuet

You are right about the Grand National Roadster Show. However, they do have one building reserved for old unrestored hot rods where you find a lot of unusual old cars. There are a lot of interesting cars that guys drive into the show too, plus a lot of guys hang around their cars so you can talk to them.

The same goes for the L.A. Roadster Show in June in Pomona. The most interesting cars are outside the buildings, including restored Model A's and four banger hot rods.

Although a lot of local shows are repetitive as you pointed out, you can always find a few interesting cars to see and interesting people to talk to.
