Default LED turn signals don't work

Last year I converted to LED taillights on my 31 Model A 6volt system. I also installed 10CP cowl light bulbs as instructed. No problems, work great.
This year I converted my bumper turn signals. They don't work. Bratton's advised to add an additional 10CP bulb in parallel to left and right, to add more amps so flasher will work properly. Has anyone done this? If so, do I need that size bulb. Adding two indicator light assemblies of that size inside the vehicle would be a bit overkill, I think.
What about a resistor in place of each bulb? What size resistors would I need.
Good feedback always appreciated.

You could use a bulb, resister, or purchase an electronic flasher. I woild just add an electronic flasher as it's far easier.

I used a electronic 3 pin flasher designed for use on a motorcycle that I found on eBay. It has an adjustable flash rate. Just installed it last fall but has worked good so far.

I'm kinda surprised your setup won't fire a 535 flasher. I think you'll have a hard time finding an electronic flasher that will work. The EF33W may work, it is a fairly new now that I have not tried.

What headlights do you have ? Can you use parking lights as turn lights, that should add enough to fire he flasher.

Are you still using the cowls ? If not, add them back in.

Adding a resistor will work.

That is if as the first sentence states, 6v.

Are you still 6 volts, or converted to 12?

I agree.

If you go with adding a resistor on a 6 volt system, then a 6 ohm resistor will add 1 amp to the draw. A 3 ohm would add 2 amps to the draw. Use a 50 watt resistor, as that will be plenty to take care of the heat, and they are cheap on ebay.

Jus do an ebay search for "6 ohm 50 watt" and you can find them as low as $1.04 with free shipping.
You'll have to wait for shipping from China.

I use a Narva P/No 68245 flasher relay with my LED indicators. Been going for at least 6 years. No need to add an extra bulb to increase the electrical load to get the relay to work.

The Narva flashers [ 3 pin 68245] is available in 12 and 24 volt.

They may or may not work on 6 volt. I have not tried one.

No, but I'd sure like to meet Sissel in person and hear her sing.

Tom,

Sissel has a very good voice, but you should listen to Sarah Brightman. She has a lot of videos on YouTube. I especially like Brightman's version of "Don't Cry for Me Argentina". Sissel has a good version but Brightman has more emotion.

Definitely install a electronic flasher, not enough resistance in the circuit to trigger a standard flasher.

Found this from a previous post. 12v electronic flashers will work on 6v.

None of them that I wasted my money do including the 3 prong EF33 and 2 prong EF32. Once again, give me a make and model number.

Looking at the 'T' board some say this flasher does work for them. Doesn't work for me and the specs confirm that. I haven't been able to find one made by Victor. If I do, it'll be tried.

So until then, I'll stick with what works. A 535 warp switch, LED rears with higher CP/ wattage bulbs in the front.

I have a couple of 12v electronic flashers that don't work on 12v either. Although, in their defense, they do work just fine until you start the engine, then all bets are off.

Don't hang your hat on an electronic flasher. I have installed a few that wouldn't work once the Model A is started. I have no way to really verify this, but my theory is that these electronic flashers ( like so many devices now days ) have no RF shielding. I suspect that stray RF maybe trashing your electronic flasher. After fighting a couple of these dudes, I threw up my hands and installed a resistor in both the right and left circuits.
