Re: Barn Find
Ahhh, the perfect candidate for that new "color back wax".
Check to see if the title card is still in the house. It could save a lot of red tape and some expense. As mentioned, that is an excellent find and well worth restoring from what I can see. Is the rear lid laying around, maybe even in another shed? |

Re: Barn Find
30-31 Sports Coupe. I would hardly call it trashed. Get it home ASAP. In need of restoration, but don't haul it to the iron buyer. Rod

Re: Barn Find
Great find...I am thinking earl 30 from what I can see of the bar between the bumper supports...take it and then pull it out as if it were an archaeological find...look on the ground for small parts that might have fallen off and get it into a better storage asap...I believe it was Eagle above who said that someone on this post would take it and that is spot on.
Good luck |

Re: Barn Find
I like EAGLE's idea. Grab it, save it yourself or let one of the FORD BARN - stock A Ford folks do a nice resto. on it. The splitting of any profit with the family is a nice touch indeed.
Looks like there is much to do - but also a very "doable" car from what you sent us! Good luck - SHEC |

My wife said that like Pavlar's dogs, that if I hear the word cheap or free it comes homes with me. And its true. I feel you can always change your mind later and sell or donate it.

Re: Barn Find
Everyone (except jkeesey) (just kidding!) knows that the sport coupe is the most beautiful of all Model A's.

Re: Barn Find
Guys, I don't know if Forker took the car or not, I don't remember a follow up, but this thread is nearly a year old....

The only problem I can see is that there is no room to sit behind the steering wheel!

Re: Barn Find
Your in a tough spot = keep it in the family or not. All I can say is if you let it go , you'll never get another chance to have grandpa's car. I've seen so many people in the same spot let go of the "family jewel" and end up sorry about it. I'm in the reverse of your problem - none of my family want my model A's. Just be sure whatever you do is what you can deal with later = don't do something you'll be sorry for ... Gary

Re: Barn Find
Definitely a Cabriolet. Judging by the pictures, in very good shape and worth restoring. don't let the rust scare you. It has been sitting under a roof so the metal is probably quite sound. Personally, I would not hesitate to start on this project. O.K., it can take you a couple of years to do but it is not as difficult as you think. It sits on a wood frame and the doors and roof have quite some wooden parts in it as well but again, a fun project to start with. It looks like the car might be complete. My advice: Go for it.

Re: Barn Find
SPORT COUPE = LOOK AT THE DOORS AND THE BRACE'S THAT ARE ATTACHED TO THE ROOF BOW #2 & BACK BELT BELT. AS TO THE (LANDAU) IRONS THEY DO NOT FOLD. I have owned my 1930 SPORT COUPE that is a retired show car for 52 years and did a frame up restoration. CHECK OUT VOL 15 ISSUE 2 OF THE RESTORER FROM MAFCA.
