Default fuel pump removal from an 2005 sable

Can someone direct me to instructions on how to remove the fuel pump in a 2005 Sable. Thanks. coup34

Pretty sure its in the gas tank, part of the fuel sender assembly.
So you either have to pull the tank, or maybe theres an access panel under the seat/ carpet/ trunk mat directly above the unit.

Not sure if Ford still does it, but they used to have impact fuel cutoff switches in the cars..sometimes they would trip from tapping a curb or hitting a big pothole..look in your owners book to see if you have one.

Just a thought for future reference: If you shut your car off and it won't start back up, listen carefully for the pump to run about 2 seconds when you turn the key on. If all you hear is silence, beat on the bottom of the tank with a block of wood or a rubber mallet while someone is cranking the engine. At least 9 times out of 10 this will jar the pump and the enigne will start and run until you shut if off again. This will get you off the road, etc. and probably even back home or to a shop.
