Default Organos Grafico Club Amigos del Ford A

Smiling spanish speaker stopped by today to look at my 36 woodie in my driveway. His daughter lives around the corner. He handed me a spanish model A magazine. Him no habla englaise and me no habla spanish. Oops, left out the picture.

Here is Carlos from Argentina. He came back with his daughter to take pictures. He has a 39 Fordor in Argentina that he showed me pictures of.

Neat! There are a couple of South American guys on the Ford Truck forum. Amazing how nice their rides are, given the extreme measures they have to go thru to get any parts.

Long ago, after a trip to Argentina my Father told me they referred to T's and As as "Fords a Bigotes", Fords with mustaches...the curvature of the fenders seen from the front was the mustache.

I have found a lot of early v/8 people while traveling to different country's. It is always interesting to see the care and time other people put into their projects, very cool to meet people from around the globe who share the same hobby.

Well, let's see...Alan says "me no habla reason for post" which says "me no speak reason for post". ???
I think it was a great post to hear about Ford people around the world.
And B-O-B says he is "sorry" but he speaks "good American English". Lawson thinks they smoke stuff down there.

3 worthless replies to a nice Ford post by mrtexas, thanks.

John

OLDFORD2 I don't see any great info that you posted & All that I see is about a dozen model As & one ford woody. Earth shattering for sure.
I spent two years protecting your right to be free & have freedom of speech. I have three brothers that combined have served over a total of ten years to protect the rights of the people of this country. One is in a vets hospital for the rest of his life one other had last rites administered however he fought back & is still with us today.
I have a had time with people coming to this GREAT country of ours & not even speaking english.
End of my rant for the day ,maybe

Hi "Amigos"

Here in Argentina there is a lot of old V8 and model A ford cars
We have three Ford fans club .

www.fordt.org.ar
www.clubamigosforda.com.ar
www.clubfordv8.com.ar

"Cafandando" is a Club Amigos del Ford A (CAFA) Magazine.

CAFA – Andando. Andando means “go around” in spanish

My apologies to Bruce Lancaster, the name "Ford a bigotes" comes from the Spark and Gas rod commands that look like mustaches on the steering column

Mike you have the answer. Whether we are black white or purple or even polka dotted. Whether we speak English English, American English, Australian English, New Zealand English, Spanish, Yiddish,Chinese, Martian or whatever, the love of old cars cross the language barrier.

BOB. I'm not American but there is a certain irony in your comment. I have read a bit of American history, Clark and Lewis etc and we all know America was once the biggest melting pot in the world, the Land of the free and people came here with that dream. Many of those who passed through Ellis Island in the early 1900s arrived to escape persecution or poverty from wherever they came from with the hope of a new life. For many of those people English was not their first language at that time.

As Carlos told me, get an old Ford and meet new friends!

He showed me a picture of himself on a picnic with his 39 deluxe Fordor and his friend's 38 Tudor. He also noted that at that time they had right hand drive in Argentina.

I could never work out why Argentina was RHD like us down here in NZ. isn't the rest of Sth America LHD?
