Default 1933 Torque Tube ?

Well we just re-installed the transmission after getting new shift forks from Mac. It appears that my oil leak was not coming from the trans but possibly from the rear differential. Oil could be seen dripping from the tube when we pulled the rear axle assembly from the trans. Now I know that too much oil in the axle could cause this, but I put in exactly what the specs call for, 2 pints.

My question is this, what are the parts shown in the exploded diagram of the "Passenger Rear End & Torque Tube Assembly" numbered 17285, 17290, 4645, 4655, and 4245? Are any of these grease seals that prevent oil from flowing towards the trans?

4245 is a seal that prevents the U-Joint grease from migrating down the torque tube, past the speedometer gear and front torque tube bearing and race. If you have lowered the front end of your car, to prevent the differential fluid from migrating down the torque tube and collecting there and not flowing back to the differential your going to need more than what Ford supplied. Bruce"s Rod Shop 6721 Klein Cemetary Rd. Spring, TX 77379 281-376-5932 brucesrodshop.com sells a custom made seal holder and seal that mounts between the differential and the torque tube. I have tried another product and it did not work. Bruces seal will allow the excess fluid to drain back to the differential and block it from collecting in the torque tube. Check out their web site.
