Tail light ID and repair ideas
Hey guys, these 2 tail lights came off my 50 F1, I'm not sure which one if either is the original.
Can any one ID these for me ? I know they aren't the same, but I'm goanna run them, and both have bad sockets, any ideas what I can use to replace them with ? thanks |

Re: Tail light ID and repair ideas
They look similar to the 33-34 car lights except
That the car lights are stainless. If you are near Kaufman, you would be welcome To look at the lights on my car. |

Re: Tail light ID and repair ideas
I agree with mfagan that these look like '33-'34 car lights like the ones on my '34. Normally they are stainless however, I believe my old '34 pickup had painted ones like these.
Also, only the driver's side had the rectangular opening at the top which was to illuminate the license plate. The passenger's side was solid all around. As for the sockets, there are aftermarket sockets available and they should come with correct wiring and connectors also. You just need the correct bulbs and lenses and you're set to go. When you order the sockets, be sure to order the same style socket - either with offset bayonet locking notches or with equal bayonet locking notches for the bulbs to catch in. Makes it a lot easier that way and also to match the correct bulbs to those notches. |

Re: Tail light ID and repair ideas
The lamp on the right in the photos is an original Ford lamp used on trucks and commercial vehicles starting in 1933, but the one on the left is a non-Ford aftermarket replacement and not a very good one judging from its appearance.
Someone has rightfully pointed out to me that the lamp housing on the right in the photo is a '35-'36 passenger car part, not the one used on trucks and commercial vehicles starting in 1933. Those vehicles used a 2-bulb black-painted lamp carried over from the '32 model year. Last edited by DavidG; 11-03-2012 at 01:39 PM. Reason: error |

We have the socket for the Ford tail light. Part number 01C-13410. Takes the 1157 bulb and has the correct cloth covered wiring. $9. each.

Re: Tail light ID and repair ideas
I have a question. ( 35 ford coupe) I've got the repalcement socket wires, inslator and spring. The round insulator which the wires go through has two tabs one on each side of it. It won't go down into the socket that I can see without filing the tabs off. Any help is appreciated. Sorry I can't post a picture. Thanks
