Default Clutch adjusted out as far as possible but need more

So I have my clutch pedal adjusted out as far as I can and the clutch still engages just off the floorboard. At this point, do I need to adjust the fingers in the clutch outward more?

Sure sounds like you need to adjust the pressure plate fingers. I had to do that too and it made a HUGE difference.

You need to adjust the fingers on the pressure plate. The adjustment on the rod only adjusts the distance between the throw out bearing and the fingers on the pressure plate. Supposedly a pressure plate coming from a supplier is supposed to be factory adjusted. I have found this to not be the case, and always check the adjustment. The attached article tells you how to do it. It is possible to do it through the removeable plate where you grease the throw-out bearing.

I am a little confused by your wording. When you say the pedal is out as far as it will go, do you mean that the pedal is up all the way without any free play? If that is the case and you cannot disengage the clutch until you reach the floor, then there may be a couple of things wrong. Check the housing for the clutch pedal where it mounts on the shaft to make sure it is not cracked. There is a design flaw for the Model A which causes the housing to crack. Also check to see if the fingers are all set to the same height. The tolerance is very tight, I think 0.002 inch. If they are not the same height this could be causing your problem.

If you are saying that the adjustment is screwed in as far as it can go and you cannot disengage the clutch until it is close to the floor, then the fingers need adjusting as others have said.

By the way, you need one inch of free play at the top of the clutch pedal so that you do not burn out the clutch from slipping.
