I would like to find a set of five 1935 wheels. (I’m tired of patching my Coker tubes. I’ve had 2 flats in my new radials with new tubes.)

1935 wheels are a direct “bolt on” replacement for the stock Model A wheels, correct?

“Old dudes”? That doesn’t narrow it down much!

I plan to be there.

Yes, I will be there too if the Lord is willing. Planning to bring a '31 P/U Cab & Bed, some 16" wheels, and some surplus sheetmetal. Since there is a 3 day Model-T tour after the swap meet, I am planning on bringing my Sears Salesman's car to drive which unfortunately (-or maybe fortunately!!) severely limits my room for swap meet stuff inside the trailer.

We are trying to disperse some brass headlamps and other fittings from a late club member's collection. A lot of them are Model T. I'm pretty busy managing the liquidation of the main collection but I would like to try to bring them to Luray if there'll be interested parties there.

The Brass headlamp vendor has two spaces beside me at Luray. He's in the Chesapeake area,I'll look for his card.

I was in Luray yesterday and I was in a T shirt. It was mid 70s. The morning was a bit crisp likely in the low 50s.

How big does this meet typically get? I've passed on attending before, but if it's worth the 9-hour round trip, I'll definitely consider it this time.

And, I'd get to hang out with old guys from New Zealand. How could I beat that?

I believe Dennis told me yesterday they had 76 different vendors pre-registered with over 100 spaces. He said there is always a few that take a chance and come without reserving spaces.

I'm not really sure how to determine is it is worth a 9-hour drive. I guess that depends on what you are needing. Last year I purchased a set of NOS 28/29 rear fenders but I typically don't find a lot of NOS stuff there for Model-As. If you are looking for good mechanical parts, there is usually an abundance of that. Good restorable sheetmetal has been hit or miss over the years as far as availability IIRC. If you do plan on coming, I would recommend coming for Friday as the good stuff is usually gone by Saturday. Friday night dinner by the VFW is always a good time too.

Ohh, and how big does it get? The entire field that everyone sets up on is a little over 350' x 350', ...so roughly around 3 acres. Doesn't sound like it is very big, but I like the size because you are not walking forever.

I’m liquidating a collection with lots of sheet metal and rebuildable mechanical parts. If you’re going to Luray, post a shopping list and I’ll see what we have.

If your shopping for A and T parts it will take a few hours to shop every space. I prefer to bring my better items to Luray along with big stuff that I don't want to carry to Hershey.
Brattons has been there the last couple of years with good used parts.
Nos parts show up along with a few cars for sale.
Parking is right there, food is good, plenty of seating under the pavilions if you need a break.

I will be there with a load of A and T parts. A couple of sets of nice 19" wheels, super nice grille shells ('30 and '31), a real good '30-'31 hood, Flywheels housing (no cracks!), coupe seat frame and springs, a nice engine stand made from a section of Model A frame and a couple good 16" wheels. Plan to post some tings in the "for sale" section tonight with pics.
Also bringing a 1928 Roadster which will be for sale. Car was recently rescued from a dilapidated shed at the foot of the Blue Ridge Mountains.

Actually, that is kinda confusing as I think that is for those of us who are going on the Tour after the swap meet. Two weeks ago when I was in Luray with Dennis, he told me they had 64 cars signed up then for the tour. I would think a good majority of the cars will be parked on the swap meet grounds anyway, but not as a formal show. We will tour on Sun, Mon, and Tuesday after the swap meet.

I will be at the Luray show and need a few items for the '30 Cabriolet I'm reassembling (was taken apart in the 60's). Looking for a drivers door window frame, radiator shell & cap, trunk lid gutter and some good advice. Not building a show car, but putting it back together with original parts - someone told me this is called a patina car! thanks

Things I would be interested in buying at Luray:
  • Linkage rods where the cad plating is still nice
  • Model B condensers that are still good (I can test)
  • Leftover Hirsch engine paint cans
  • Piston ring filer
  • Beam torque wrench with in-lb scale
  • Dial indicator w/ or w/o magnetic base
  • Vernier calipers with dial gauge

I will also test coils on request if you bring a coil or have one you're thinking of buying.

Last year Brattons set up at Luray. You could pre-order online and they brought the order to Luray. That was nice to save the shipping. I just called to see if they were doing it again - the answer was NO. I was told they lost their vehicle, so are unable to
