Coil question
I have a stock 6 volt ignition system. Replacing the coil?
Can i use either a 6 volt or 12 volt coil, or do i need to go 6 volt only?? Thanks for your advise and wisdom, always most helpful and sometimes very funny! |

Re: Coil question
you need a 6V coil on a 6V system.
A 12V coil has an internal resistor imposed on 6V windings, and thus your primary resistance will be too high why not get a 6V coil directly from FSI ignitions? they are one of the few sources left of American made 6V coils

Re: Coil question
My first choice for a coil would be a good original coil, which Bert's in Denver would most likely stock.

Re: Coil question
NAPA will (probably) have a coil and I (and others I know) have had VERY good performance from their coils.
