Default Freeze plugs

Is there a freeze plug at the rear of a B block?

Nope. No freeze-plugs / core plugs anywhere on an A block.

No, Frank is correct. If you look quickly or are looking a bad picture you may be seeing the back of the cam and thinking it is a freeze plug. It is important to use the gasket between the block and the flywheel housing to keep oil from the cam bearing from leaking. If you are leaking water from this area you have another problem (probably higher up on the block where you should be able see it). By the way, why did you ask?

I know some builders would machine a step and put one at the back of the cam.To me that would be a belt and suspenders kind of thing.I think there was an article written that told just how to do it.

Keith,
My friend in Zurich, shortened the rear of his cam & machined up a plug, with a groove & an "O" ring.

I'm using an A bellhousing as I have a T-5 transmission. There is a very small coolant leak in the back of the block. Very difficult to figure out where as I'm also running a CRAGAR head.
