AA Front Brake Drums
I'm trying to find a part number on the front 14 inches drums of my 31AA, Does anyone know where (if) this is stamped on the drum?
I'm also trying to determine if these are stamped or cast Iron. what's the best way to make this determination? Thanks for all help. Chris |

Re: AA Front Brake Drums
This is what I have, the profile looks different and I can't find the part numbers that are on yours. Any idea if these are the stamped drums or a aftermarket piece?
Thanks for your help. Chris Last edited by Chris_AAFord; 01-25-2017 at 10:19 PM. |

Re: AA Front Brake Drums
Yours looks like steel. That is a date 5-15-43, there is no part # on the drum.

Re: AA Front Brake Drums
Thanks!
Did they stamp a minimum material number for cutting or did they not do that since they didn't recommend cutting the steel drums? |

Re: AA Front Brake Drums
The easy way to differentiate stamped steel from cast iron AA drums is to look at the rim. On the cast iron drums, there are two small squares 180 degrees apart. See the middle picture of Bob C's post (post #2). The stamped steel drums do not have these.
